Step 01 / Make space
Pause & Prepare
Set aside a quiet moment for your skincare routine. Let the distractions of the day fall away.
A moment of calm
Royal jelly skincare
From our fascination with the hive comes a simple ambition: skin that feels soft, hydrated and comfortable. Meet the daily face cream we’re creating for normal-to-dry skin, with royal jelly at its heart.
Fig. 01 — The everyday ritualOur signature ingredient
Royal jelly is where our story begins. Every choice in our developing formula grows from that starting point.
Care with a purpose
Hydration, softness and smoother-looking skin. Three clear goals guiding our first daily moisturizer.
A moment of your own
A familiar gesture, morning or evening. A little time to care for the skin you live in.

Royal jelly at the heart. Everyday care in mind.
Our first daily moisturizer
Royal jelly takes the lead. Around it, we’re building a moisturizing formula with niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, ceramides and vitamin E. Our aim is a cream you’ll reach for every day: comforting on skin and easy to make your own.
Our signature bee-derived ingredient gives Mellifera its identity and our first cream its starting point.
Hyaluronic acid and a ceramide blend are part of our plan for moisture and skin comfort.
Niacinamide and vitamin E round out the proposed formula, with softness and smoother-looking skin guiding development.
The formula and packaging are being developed. Final ingredients and product benefits will be confirmed after formulation and testing.
The daily ritual
The everyday moments are the ones we return to. We’re creating Mellifera to belong in yours.

Your everyday ritual
From the hive to the formula
Royal jelly is a substance produced by honeybees to nourish their young and queen. It’s the ingredient that first drew us to the hive, and the heart of Mellifera. We’re exploring how to pair it with familiar skincare ingredients, each with a clear role in our daily moisturizer.

Our proposed ingredients, subject to formulation and testing. This is a look at our direction, not a final ingredient list.
For a smoother-looking complexion
Also known as vitamin B3. Research into niacinamide-containing creams is one reason we’re considering it for the appearance of skin texture and tone.
For moisture
A water-binding ingredient used in moisturizers. It fits our focus on skin that feels hydrated and comfortable.
For moisture retention
Lipids naturally found in skin’s outer layer. We’re exploring a ceramide blend to complement the moisturizing base.
For antioxidant support
An antioxidant ingredient that completes our proposed supporting cast. Its form and level will be chosen as part of the full formula.
We are reading the research as we develop the cream. These studies tested other formulations; they don’t establish results for Mellifera. Ingredient form, concentration and the complete formula all matter.
A 2025 trial of a cream containing a specific protease-treated royal jelly extract reported improvements in some wrinkle-depth and skin-moisture measures over 12 weeks. The research involved Yamada Bee Company scientists. Those findings cannot be assumed for other royal jelly extracts or our developing cream.
Read the royal jelly study (2025)In a 12-week study of 50 women, a moisturizer with 5% niacinamide improved several signs of facial skin aging, including the appearance of fine lines and uneven pigmentation, compared with its base alone. The study was conducted by Procter & Gamble researchers.
Read the niacinamide study (2005)A 60-day study of 76 women found improved hydration with the tested 0.1% hyaluronic acid creams compared with their base alone. Different molecular weights were studied, a reminder that the form of an ingredient matters as well as its name.
Read the hyaluronic acid study (2011)A 2018 study measured increased skin hydration after a single application of a ceramide-containing moisturizer. It tested a complete cream with several moisturizing ingredients, so it does not isolate the effect of ceramides alone.

Everyday rituals
A comfortable chair. A little daylight. Space between one moment and the next. Sometimes, the most considered ritual is simply taking your time.

Inside the formula
A good moisturizer is more than a list of ingredients. It’s how they work together, how the cream feels, and how it fits into everyday life. Those are the details guiding us as Mellifera takes shape.
